Job Lead Men
In 1976, Andrew and Eleanor Heggemann opened a union plumbing business known as Heggemann Plumbing Company. They ran the business from their home in Warrenton. They offered quality plumbing work in Warren, Lincoln, and St. Charles County.
When Andrew and Eleanor opened their business, they had the help of their three sons and two daughters in the shop, office, and sometimes on the job sites. While Andrew and two journeymen plumbers worked in the field, Eleanor worked in the office. Their son Paul joined the company full time as an apprentice plumber in 1981.
In 1983, their son Ron started as a plumber’s laborer. Paul became a journeyman plumber in 1985 and Ron in 1993. Their daughter Linda began working in the office in 1987. With the help of family and other plumbers, Andrew was able to expand and begin doing commercial plumbing. In 1995, Eleanor retired and Linda worked full time in the office.
Then in 1996, Linda and her husband, Dan, Paul and his wife, Lisa, and Ron and his wife, Melinda, purchased the business. That same year the company was incorporated and became known as Heggemann Plumbing, Inc. In 1997, Lisa joined the staff in the office to help with the bookkeeping. The same year, Dan began working full time as a laborer. In 1998, the business moved to their new location at 508 West Booneslick Road in Warrenton. At that time Melinda began working in the office with Linda and Lisa. Linda and Dan’s son, Mike, began his apprenticeship program and employment with the company in 2000. Since 2003, Linda and Dan’s daughter, Jessica, has helped part-time as IT support and office help. In 2004, the company changed names to Heggemann, Inc.
Today we employ twenty field employees, and Paul runs the commercial and residential plumbing division, while Ron handles the repair and service division. Linda’s son, Mike, takes care of the site and industrial piping work.
Now the business has expanded by leaps and bounds. On November 16, 2011, Heggemann, Inc. purchased Red’s Plumbing in Washington, Missouri. Red’s was previously owned by Ed Conway for 24 years. Conway retired to pursue other interests. “We have thousands of loyal customers, and I will miss working for them and with them,” Conway said. “But I know that the Heggemann’s will take the same or better care of them.” The Washington shop will remain open on Fifth Street with the same employees; however, there will not be an office presence as there is now. The phone number remains the same, but the dispatching will be done through the Warrenton office.
Paul and Lisa’s daughter, Debbie, joined the office staff in 2012 and helps coordinate the repair work. In 2017 their daughter, Jennifer, and her husband Shaun moved from Kansas City to join the company. Jennifer works closely with our estimators and engineering personnel. Shaun joined the staff as a project manager, estimator, and engineer.
Even with the larger workforce, our goals remain the same as when Andrew and Eleanor started the business in 1976 – quality work and superior customer service.
